Sidrap – PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi is pleased to announce that the main turbine parts for the Sidrap Wind Farm Project have been shipped from Spain and are on the way to Nusantara Port Parepare in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The Gamesa G114 2,5 MW hubs and nacelles are being delivered by the BBC Congo vessel owned by a Germany based company.
BBC Congo is a huge multipurpose heavy-lifter vessel which has a total length of 143 meters and maximum capacity of 12.974 GT. The vessel is specifically designed to ship gigantic cargos that are unable to be transported by regular cargo vessel.
This super ship is currently scheduled to dock at the Nusantara Port on August 14, 2017. Offloading of the specialist equipment is likely to take at least three days, before transporting them to the project site.
The arrival of BBC Congo will be the first of a number of components ships during the period August to October 2017. The first shipment consists of 15 Gamesa G114 2,5 MW turbines.
The turbine parts are large and expensive so great care will be taken to transport the parts from Port to Site again using very specialist trucks which are shipped in from other parts of Indonesia to undertake the specialist task.
With hubs and nacelles on the ship and on the way to Parepare, Sidrap Wind Farm Project is on the right path. UPC Sidrap will start the erection of towers in September and erection is scheduled to be completed by end of 2017.
