UPC Renewables (“UPC”) has been a pioneer in the Philippines renewable energy market since 2007 and was the developer behind one of the first utility scale wind farms in the country, the 81 MW Caparispisan project in Pagudupud, Ilocos Norte.  UPC has since broadened its development efforts to also cover solar project development.

UPC has built up an experienced local management team with a variety of skill sets necessary to develop, build and operate wind and solar farms: including Development, land acquisition, community relations and interface, environmental analysis and mitigation, Government relations, utility power contracting and technical interface, engineering and planning, logistics analysis, legal contracting with counterparties, construction plan development and contracting, Construction, Project Management, Financing and Administration with offices in Manila and Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

UPC  developed, provided construction management services and remains an owner of the Caparispisan Project through North Luzon Renewable Energy Corporation (“NLREC”), a joint venture with the Ayala Group, Diamond Generating Asia Ltd, and the PINAI Fund. which entered commercial operations in November, 2014.

UPC is working to develop another approximately 700 MW of wind and solar renewable energy projects across the archipelago and is committed to supplying clean renewable energy to the Filipino people at the lowest possible price in a socially responsible way.
